WB@GP is a local Charity formed especially to work with local community organisations and voluntary groups to design, develop and deliver a range of secure, private facilities aimed at physical and sensory health and wellbeing.

WB@GP’s exciting first projects and capital works are nearing a start on at the Vitality Park within Garon Park.

WB&GP is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic person to join our Board of Trustees in a Marketing and Communications role, to take forward and develop our marketing and communications strategy and manage our social media and web presence.

If you have the required skills and track record and would like to know more about the role and what we do, please send your CV or letter of interest to:

Wellbeing@garonpark.com . We will then contact you for a follow up informal discussion.

Many thanks and we look forward to hearing from you.

A New Shed in Town!

Wellbeing at Garon Park is proud to be a member of the UK Men’s Sheds Association and bringing this exciting opportunity to Southend. Men’s Sheds help people to connect, converse and create with activities similar to those of garden sheds, but for groups to enjoy together. They can also help reduce loneliness and isolation so benefitting mental health, or just help you learn a new skill – but most importantly, they’re fun!

In Spring 2019 Wellbeing at Garon Park will be opening a new Shed at our Garon Park site. We would love to hear from men and women interested initially in helping to refurbish the building or who are interested in using the shed once it’s up and running.

Having successfully secured funding from the National Lottery Awards for All to enable it to purchase a building, which is expected on site this Spring, Wellbeing at Garon Park is keen to hear from volunteers who can spare a few hours to come along and help refurbish the building to get it ready for use.

We have teamed up with the organisation Volunteer it Yourself who will provide a skilled mentor to supervise the work with materials kindly donated by Wickes, so everyone is welcome to come along and help.  No matter whether you’re a skilled tradesperson or have never held a paintbrush there will be something to do.

We welcome men and women who are keen to get involved and have already had enquiries from men and women looking to join in and play an active part at the Shed. To get involved please ring Ian on 07913 381495 or email ian.bysouth@gmail.com.

“At our open event last year, we had great interest in our proposed Men’s Shed so I’m really excited that it’s now becoming a reality” said Ian Bysouth who is working alongside Andy Badger of Wellbeing at Garon Park to make the shed a reality.

“We hope to be opened sometime later this spring so the more help we get the quicker we can start to provide this facility to those in the local community and grow what we can achieve here at Wellbeing At Garon Park” said Andy.
